Membership and Fees

Rider Membership

A current Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) Annual Recreational Membership is a minimum requirement for membership of Townsville Rockwheelers Mountain Bike Club (Rockwheelers) as a rider member  and it is strongly recommended that a full Senior / Junior MTBA Annual Membership be obtained by prospective members if you intend to participate in any competition events. Club membership and MTBA membership can be applied for concurrently as your MTBA application requires proof of club membership from your Club Secretary. Supporter Membership

Supporter membership is offered for those people who wish to support the club in its day to day activites including advocacy for land access, trail building, promoting mountain biking as a sporting activity, along with organising MTB events and competitions. Supporter membership provides and opportunity to assist with these activities without being a rider member. Further details are on the Supporter Membership Application form.

Club Membership Fees

Single Membership: $30 

Family Membership: $30 plus $5 per additional family member to a maximum of $50

Supporter Membership: $30 plus $5 per additional family member to a maximum of $50

Club membership fees are current for 12 months from the time of joining.

Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) Membership

A MTBA membership (Senior/Junior or Day Rider) is compulsory for all competitive club events. If you are only wanting to take part in social club rides or recreational class in MTB events then Recreational MTBA membership is also available. Rockwheelers strongly encourages you to compare the differences in insurance cover provided by the 3 types of MTBA membership (Senior/Junior, Recreational, Day) and be aware that a "Day Rider" license is not just a day version of a competition or recreational license as it has limited insurance cover.  A comparison of insurance cover has been put together for you to see which type of MTBA membership suits you - click here: MTBA Insurance Simplified

MTBA fees for 2007

Recreational Membership (Annual): $42 plus club membership fee

Junior Membership (Annual): $60 plus club membership fee

Senior Membership (Annual): $80 plus club membership fee

Members of Cycling Australia can value-add to their CA membership by getting a MTBA membership for $36 (conditions apply refer to MTBA web site).

Rider Day Membership: $15.00 plus event registration fee.

Cash: At participating bike shops – currently  Off 'n' On Bikes , Rising Sun. Off' n' On Bikes will also take EFTPOS payments for membership
